Description: This course is a 2-day introduction to the equipment and systems that can be used to problem solve vertical problems in the alpine, from bluff abseiling and pitching to lightweight rope techniques designed to keep moving and travel efficient. These techniques can be transferred to skiing and fast & light missions.

Pre-requisites: Basic snowcraft course and some experience outdoor lead sport climbing.

Venue: Arthurs Pass – Temple Basin, Otira Valley or similar.

Accommodation: Kennedy Lodge, Arthurs Pass. BYO food and drink.

Date: June 4th (arrive at Kennedy lodge by 730pm) – June 6th (finishing about 3pm).
