Instructor: Stevo (Paul) Stevens
Description: An introduction to technical mountaineering. You will learn how about belaying, pitching, anchors for snow/rock/ice, prussiking, moving together safely on exposed terrain, knots, abseiling.
Pre-requisites: Basic snowcraft course, at least 2x grade 1 peaks on snow. Basic rock climbing experience in outdoor sport climbing.
Venue: Arthur’s Pass
Accommodation: Kennedy Lodge and CUSC lodge
Cost: $260 per person including 2 full mountains days, 1 night at Kennedy Lodge 1 night at CUSC lodge
Pre-course session: An information evening session is held one week night (to be arranged) in Christchurch to give everyone a chance to meet each other and for the instructor to give a plan for the weekend and arrange transport.
