Description: An introduction to technical mountaineering. You will learn how about anchors for snow/rock/ice, belaying & pitching, moving together safely on exposed terrain, knots, abseiling, prussiking.
Pre-requisites: Extensive experience in alpine terrain using crampons & ice axes, suggested minimum 5 alpine trips. Comfortable familiarity with lead belaying and leading a rock climb.
Venue: Arthur’s Pass
Accommodation: Kennedy Lodge and TBSC lodge
Cost: $300 per person including 1 night at Kennedy Lodge 1 night at TBSC lodge
Pre-course session: An information evening session is held one week night (to be arranged) in Christchurch to give everyone a chance to meet each other and for the instructor to give a plan for the weekend and arrange transport.
