Intro to Ski Touring(For Mountaineers) – 26th – 27th August

Description: This course will introduce you to backcountry ski touring: track setting, skinning, transitions, choosing good lines, snowpack & avalanche assessment and small party rescue.

Pre-requisites: Basic snow craft course or relevant mountaineering skills. Must be a good skier/rider, capable of skiing in all off-piste conditions, comfortable skiing with a back pack on. You must have all of your own ski touring equipment.

Gear List

Venue: Temple Basin/Cragieburns area.

Accommodation: Two  nights accommodation at Kennedy Lodge, Arthurs Pass. BYO Food, full kitchen facilities available.

Date: 26th – 27th August, Meet at 7.30pm on Friday at Kennedys Lodge. Finish by 4.30pm on the Sunday.
