Description: Located at 1700m with a westerly outlook, the historic Alma hut provides a great base for exploring some of the surrounding glaciers and ski mountaineering objectives. Due to its lower elevation and aspect great spring corn skiing can be expected. We will maximise the best weather window over the 7 days.
Pre-requisites: Strong intermediate skier with previous ski touring experience, previous mountaineering experience and use with ropes and some glacier experience
Venue: Alma hut, Franz Josef glacier
Cost: $1100 per person + hut fees + flight fees ($300ish)
Date: 5 best days of weather between October 9-15th. Course is 5 days with 2 days weather contingency.
