CMC’s Lodge in Arthur’s Pass National Park

ACCESS

• Address: 69 Brake Hill, Arthur’s Pass National Park.
• Parking: Limited spaces at the lodge. If full, park at the top of Brake Hill. Avoid blocking driveways of local residents.

FACILITIES

• Sleeping: Two upstairs bunkrooms (12-bed and 8-bed).
• Kitchen: Fully equipped with electric stove, cooktops, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, pots, pans, cutlery, and plates.
• Heating: Log burner in the common area.
• Washrooms: Internal showers (hot) and toilets.
• Extras: Mains power, electronic fire alarm, vacuums (one in kitchen, one upstairs).

RULES

• Payment:
• - Fees: $20/night for CMC members; $50/night for non-members. 
• - Non-members must be accompanied by a CMC member.
  - Children under 12 stay free.
• Access Code: Sent via email after payment. Codes are personalised and expire the day of scheduled departure.
• Bed Management: Use the whiteboard (above the wood bin, right of the log burner) to mark your name and bunkroom choice. Erase upon departure.

HISTORY

• Built in 1936 over four days during Easter to replace the original Arthur’s Pass House.
• Rebuilt in 1987 after a fire, modernising facilities while retaining its backcountry charm.
