Intro: We are organising a CMC contingent to go to the Remarkables Ice & Mixed festival in Queenstown. It’s a great chance to do some more technical climbing & mountaineering in a relatively safe environment, plus the evening festivities in Frankton make it a really sociable long weekend.

Date: August 11-14th 2022
Itinerary: Thursday travel to Queenstown, leaving Christchurch early afternoon to arrive in time for registration in Frankton before 8pm. Climb Friday, Saturday, Sunday, return Sunday late afternoon. Accommodation options available in Queenstown – backpackers or AirBnB. We will organise as a group. Once people sign up, I will email everyone who has signed up so you can discuss plans together in terms of accommodation and climbing arrangements.
Previous experience required: Climbing options in the Remarkables range from basic grade 1 to technical ice & mixed multipitch routes. You’ll need at minimum to have done a basic snowcraft or introduction to mountaineering course.
