Itinerary: This is a 16k loop taking in the summit of Mt Somers. Note there is a lot of elevation gain (about 1700m total) and parts of the track are rough to non existent at the very top. Beginning Sharplin Falls carpark 450m then moderately steep run up to Staverly Hill, then turn right for a very steep run up to Summit 1688m. Then run West along Mt Somers plateau through bush, down towards the track before Woolshed Creek Hut 750m. Then run East up slight incline along the Northern Mt Somers loop track to 1150m, past Pinnacles Hut and Duke Knob back to Sharplin Falls carpark. 10 hours is a reasonable benchmark time.
