We will be going E-W via the Modern Route along Madonna Shoulder.
If enough people are interested we might have two groups moving in opposite directions, or someone might volunteer to pick us up on the W.C.
Thursday night head down to Wyn Irwin. Friday morning follow the Modern Route up to Copeland Shelter.
Saturday cross the pass then make our way to Welcome Flat hot pools.
Sunday walk out hopefuly to waiting transport on WC side.
If transport difficult or weather tight then we just summit at the pass and return same way.
Note this route is prone to rockfall and can be tough in several aspects.
It used to be a beginners route but you need to be very steady and confident on your feet and move quicks if the rocks come down.
Helmet, rigid technical boot with crampons and two axes essential.
Bring rope, harness, headlamp and approach shoes.
Food for 3 days.
