Intro: Mt Guinevere is a 2042m high peak in Arthur’s Pass located on the west side of the Crow Valley, a great weekend trip in early season conditions.

Date: 14th – 15th July (Matariki)
Itinerary: Depending on preferences, we can either head out Thursday evening and stay at Kennedy or leave Christchurch early Friday. Head to Crow hut Friday via Avalanche Pk (depending on conditons), summit Saturday and walk out the Waimakariri, back to Christchurch late Sat.
How many participants you are willing to lead: 5 (7 if someone is willing to co-lead)
Previous experience required : This is a beginner/intermediate trip, for people who have done a intro course and a few grade 1 climbs under their belt. The minimum level of prior experience in the snow is on grade 1 objectives such as Mt Philistine, Otira Slide or similar. Reasonable level of fitness also.
Gear required: Helmet, avalanche gear, overnight gear for the hut, at least ¾ shank boots, crampons, ice axe (do-able with one but preferably 2)
