Rob Frost will present this year’s Kennedy Lecture with his self titled talk “How does a tramper from Auckland end up writing the guidebook for New Zealand’s mountaineering mecca?” Rob is a keen climber and the author of the new Aoraki Tai Poutini guidebook, which was named the best guidebook in the world at the 2019 Banff Mountain Book awards. Come along to hear the background to Rob’s guide and perhaps one or two stories from Rob’s own adventures.

The CMC’s Annual Lecture was established in 1961 to the memory of the late W. A. Kennedy. It commemorates the long association that Mr Kennedy had with this Club, being president from 1932 to 1946 and then patron until his death in 1950…. It has always been the policy to invite recognised leaders in their field to speak. Canterbury Mountaineer 1987.
