Difficulty Grade 2.

Suitable for fit intermediate climbers involves 3 long days and 2 nights with a lot of altitude gain and possible rope work and a full pack.

Make no mistake this is a 3600m flogging.

Equipment: 1 axe, poles, helmet, avo gear, sleeping bag + tent or bivvy. Harness and rigid boots.

Leave Ch early Sat morning at 4am.Start at Hapuku stream carpark, go up Surveyor Spur past Stace Saddle and camp at point 1920.

Early start to Summit arrive about sunset then 2nd bivvy near ridge, maybe dig a cave.

Day 3 return in loop via Uwerau and descend to Hapuku hut and out.

Plan B: River walk?
